Terms of Service

In short: Haligi helps you keep track of your house build. You own what you put in it. It isn't a contractor, an engineer or a bank, and the numbers in it are yours: check anything important with a qualified professional. Be honest and respectful, and don't use Haligi to harm anyone.

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Haligi ("Haligi", "we", "us") about using the Haligi app and website. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Haligi.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old, and able to enter into a binding agreement.
  • Give your real name and a mobile number that's yours, and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
  • One person per account. Don't make an account for someone else without their permission.

What Haligi is, and isn't

Haligi is a tool for recording and following a house build: your budget, purchases, stages, progress photos and the people helping. It is not a construction company, contractor, engineer, architect, lender or insurer, and it does not supervise any build.

  • Budgets, totals, material summaries and progress figures come from what you and your project members enter. They are only as accurate as that information.
  • Nothing in Haligi is engineering, architectural, legal or financial advice. Decisions about your house's design, safety, permits and money are yours, with the professionals you hire.
  • Material names and categories in Haligi are general references. Always confirm specifications and quantities with your engineer, architect or foreman.

Your content

You own the photos, notes and records you put into Haligi ("your content"). You give us a licence to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run Haligi for you: for example, to show it to the members of your project, and on pages you choose to share. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which expire as our Privacy Policy describes.

Only post content you have the right to post. Photos of other people, such as workers on site, should be taken and shared with their permission.

Sharing and portfolios

Projects are private until you share them. If you share a project by link, anyone with the link can see its page. If you make it public, it can appear on the portfolio of a professional you credited, and anyone can find it. Shared pages show the town and province only. You can make a project private again, or hide amounts, at any time. Pages already copied or saved by others are beyond our control.

Using Haligi fairly

Please don't:

  • Post anything false, misleading, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or illegal, or anything that invades someone's privacy
  • Pretend to be someone else, or claim a licence or credential you don't have
  • Upload another person's ID or data without their permission
  • Break the law, or help anyone else break it, including laws on building, taxes and data privacy
  • Try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, overload our systems, or copy Haligi's data in bulk by automated means
  • Reverse engineer the app, except as the law allows

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.

Professionals

If you use Haligi as an engineer, architect, foreman or other professional:

  • The licences, certificates and experience you give must be true and current. You're responsible for keeping your licence valid.
  • Verification means we checked the documents you gave us at the time. It is not an endorsement or a guarantee of your work, and we may remove it if a document turns out to be invalid.
  • Your agreements with clients are between you and them. Haligi is not a party to them.
  • Only list work you actually did, and only accept credits for houses you worked on.

Other people's services

Haligi may help you find or work with professionals, stores and suppliers, now or in the future. They are independent of Haligi. We don't employ them, and we aren't responsible for their work, products, prices, deliveries or conduct. Check credentials, get written agreements, and inspect materials and work yourself.

Fees

Haligi is free to use today. We may introduce paid features later. If we do, we'll show the price clearly before you pay for anything, and nothing you already use will start costing money without notice.

Ending your account

You can stop using Haligi and delete your account at any time. See Delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or where the law requires us to. If we close Haligi entirely, we'll give you notice and a way to download your data first.

Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Haligi accurate, secure and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it fits any particular purpose. Keep your own copies of anything important, such as receipts and contracts.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Haligi is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as delays to a build, cost overruns, or lost profits. Haligi is not liable for decisions made from figures entered in the app, or for the acts of professionals, suppliers or other users. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ₱1,000 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, including for fraud, gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under Philippine law.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. If there's a problem, please contact us first: most things can be settled that way. Any dispute that can't be settled will be brought before the proper courts of Quezon City, Philippines.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Haligi changes. We'll change the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Haligi after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
